So after our road-trip-a-thon, we took some time off. Well, the kids and I did. Ed had man weekend, so he was out of town the following weekend as well. Poor Ed wound up not being home for a single weekend for six weeks! He's a traveling maniac!
The kids enjoyed some quality down time with their toys. Especially Trudy!
Then we were on the road again, this time for the Bannon family reunion in Okiboji, IA. Here are Ed and the kids at the Mississippi river, one of our MANY stops on our 12 hour ride.
Part one of the mighty Miss.
Part two.
Lenny and Faye run around on the banks of the Mississippi....
While Ed and Trudy relax a bit.
It was a long trip but eventually we made it. This vacation was FANTASTIC. All the cousins got to hang out and enjoy each others' company. The place we stayed had a beach and a great park so the kids were easily occupied most days. However, it wouldn't be a vacation without some touristy stuff, so one day we went to Arnold's Park answer to Kiddie Land, and boy was it fun!!!
We rode the carousel.
And the train!
Faye gives Trudy a spontaneous hug on the train. How cute!
Lenny and Faye rode the fish ride....
the boats....
and the roller coaster!
Boy all those rides sure muscled them up, hunh?
And why does Faye have an extra arm?!?!?!
Trudy spent most of her time walking and snuggling with Mommy. It was heaven!
Now with this many talented, good looking people in one place, the urge was too hard to resist....thus we had a talent show!
The Robaczewski-Bannon quartet sang "Go, Cubs! Go!" Well, it was more of a trio, but Joey sang from the back by his parents.
Next up was Leo on the sax. This kid can really play!
Then Ty showcased her vocal talents.
Grandma did Posey Girl!
At the end, Lenny couldn't resist doing an encore. He sang song after song all by himself!
Faye just wanted some time with "her Teaghan!"
Lunch the last day, our little bundles of mischief are General Mayhem and Major Trouble. That about sums it up!
